Daniel Sjoholm

I’m Daniel Sjoholm, a senior at Westview and president of Model United Nations. MUN is a simulation of the real United Nations where students play the role of delegates from countries and attempt to solve real world issues. For example, in MUN, you could play the role of Kim Jung-Un in a discussion about nuclear weapons in North Korea. At conferences, which are now being held virtually, students give speeches, make deals, and argue with each other- sometimes, you’ll even be able to declare war on another person! Model United Nations teaches public speaking, communication, and debating skills, and you’ll have the opportunity to form strong relationships with other students- and it looks good on college applications, too.
